Sterling Street Sidewalk - construction in 2024 or 2025
Sidewalk will be constructed on the west side of Sterling Street between Elizabeth Street and the existing sidewalk north of Gay Street. This will fill a gap between the existing sidewalks on Sterling Street to provide a safer route for people walking in the neighborhood, including to Ralph Sampson Park, Lucy Simms Center and Spotswood Elementary School. Funded through American Rescue Plan Act funds allocated to the City.
A Sterling Street Open House Event[2MB] was held on Wednesday, June 21 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at the Lucy F. Simms Center, 620 Simms Avenue, Harrisonburg. The public attended to learn about project details and provide feedback.
