The Public Works Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life of the community and be customer oriented and cost efficient.
With more than 100 employees, the Public Works Department provides and maintains a significant portion of the services and infrastructure that are essential to the health and growth of Harrisonburg.

These services include refuse and recycling collection, street improvements, and the maintenance of traffic signals and street signs. Please select one of the headings to the left to learn more about these services.
